Ground Training and Examinations
The DGCA specifies a ground-training
syllabus of 350 hours for a CPL student. However,
OFS has formulated a syllabus of over 600 hours, to
wellequip every CPL holder to be successful at the
time of Airline interviews. OFS Ground Training includes
the syllabus for RTR (Radio Telephony-Restricted),
an examination conducted by the Ministry of Communication,
Govt. of India. This syllabus covers Air Regulation,
Meteorology, Air Navigation, Technical (General),
Specific (Cessna 152), Specific (Cessna 172) and RTR.

Ground
Examination
During the course, students
will have to successfully clear the following examinations
conducted by the DGCA, Ministry of Civil Aviation
and WPC, Ministry of Communication:

Students are required to take
examinations stipulated by the DGCA at Chennai or
other approved centers (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta etc.)
to qualify for their licence. The detailed exam schedule
can be obtained from the Operations Office. The Radio
Telephony exam is conducted once in every two-months
at the various cities mentioned above.
Resource
Centre
The OFS library and resource
centre is one of the finest in the entire country
and has an entire range of books, encyclopedia, reference
material, journalsand magazines on aviation. The training
facility also offers the latest audio and video instructional
aids of JEPPESEN and KING SCHOOLS,USA.
The Ground School has a well-stocked
resource centre with the latest aviation publications
on CDROMs, DVDs, Videos, CBTs and internet facility
to support any trainees from the ab-initio level up
to the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence).
